    The Helios HR Operations Intern will provide administrative support to the business operations of Helios HR to include contract management, human resources, operations, and marketing.


    The ideal candidate for this internship position is someone who is eager to learn various components of the internal operations of our consulting business and is excited about the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and make an immediate impact on our day to day operations.  Individuals who are able to take minimal direction and execute on tasks, while not being afraid to ask questions for clarity, will fit well in our fast-paced environment. We have a casual office environment and a fun culture that will offer a great internship opportunity to the right candidate.


    As a Helios HR Intern, your role will be varied and stimulating as you will have multiple project assignments throughout your time during the internship.  Depending upon your interest areas and the current projects within Helios HR, your opportunities will provide a meaningful, learning based environment. The internship program at Helios HR will be unique in the fact that the Intern will work with internal staff to improve operational efficiencies and with external clients through HR Business Partners to help a variety of projects including research, reporting, process, and documentation of targeted initiatives that contribute to employee engagement. Clients of Helios HR range from small to large organizations, in a variety of industries, with a diverse set of needs.  


    Job Duties Include:

    • Process contracts (new contracts, extensions, changes & terminations) in accordance with established processes
    • Ensure projects are set up in Unanet (timekeeping system) for timekeeping and reporting purposes
    • Submit weekly contract batches to accounting for processing
    • Process resource change/update requests in Unanet so employees can accurately record time worked against Helios HR engagements
    • Create weekly operations reports each Monday for Helios HR management team operations meetings
    • Draft Helios HR proposals (using established proposal templates) for members of the management team
    • Create weekly sales report for Tuesday sales meetings
    • Assist in the preparation for the monthly All Hands meeting
    • File employee and business records/documents in accordance with established processes
    • Provide formatting and editing support for operations and marketing documents
    • Support office management responsibilities such as monitoring supply inventory, ordering supplies, organizing storage closets and supplies cabinets, etc.
    • Support ad hoc projects as needed such as:
      • Business systems data clean up and optimization
      • Personnel file restructuring
      • Perform other duties as assigned 



    • Some work experience preferably exposure to customer service
    • The flexibility to work in a variety of locations within the Washington, DC metro area. 
    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university.
    • Concentration in Human Resources or Business (other majors may be considered if your college/university does not offer a HR degree program and/or you have course work or other projects to substantiate your interest in field of human resources/operations management)
    • High attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team, take initiative and follow up on assigned projects.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
    • Computer literacy is essential.


    • Ability to work onsite at Helios HR office required
    • Monday and Tuesday availability required; other hours can be flexible to accommodate schedule
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required
    • Professional and polite demeanor
