Overview

Helios HR is excited to be partnering with this global organization in their search for a Director of Human Resources (HR Director).  The HR Director will be responsible for planning and managing human resources programs and strategies in North America, including recruiting and retention strategies, employee relations and performance management, compensation, benefits administration, payroll integration, compliance, and the daily operations of the department.  


The HR Director will report directly to the VP Global HR and Talent Management and will work closely senior North America operational leadership to support business requirements while driving local initiatives.

Responsibilities

The HR Director will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing human resources programs in North America related to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, and HR operations.  This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment supporting over 450 employees across the U.S. and Canada. 

 

  • Provides oversight, direction, and planning for all North America HR activities and initiatives, supporting the organization’s business objectives.
  • Proactively manages staffing levels, ensuring a consistent and streamlined recruitment approach that supports hiring managers and complies with federal and state laws.  Creates localized recruitment strategies, partnering with colleges, universities and veteran organizations; develops a robust pipeline of qualified applicants. 
  • Develops tools and resources for managers that promote employee engagement and proposes solutions that align with organizational objectives. 
  • Analyzes metrics, developing measures for key metrics; creates standard monthly and quarterly reports; evaluates data to identify trends and gaps and proposes solutions. 
  • Assists in driving organizational effectiveness through a clear Performance Management processes; assists managers in developing coaching solutions for employees; partners with managers and provides guidance on employee relations issues.  Identifies trends and develops tools and resources that support ongoing feedback.;
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Works with members of the HR team to define and implement streamlined processes, evaluating system capabilities and options for automation. Ensures records retention, compliance and regulations are adhered to on both state and federal level.  Works closely with the global HR team to ensure efficient and scalable HR operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least five years in an HR leadership role required.
  • Experience in high-end retail, travel, hospitality, or embassy/consulate relations highly preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills: clear written and verbal communication also a must.  
  • Fluency in a second language highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required; adherence to deadlines, adaptability to changing circumstances, ability to handle a high volume of work, and excellent attention to detail are all critical.
  • Should be able to problem solve, analyze information, apply expertise and provide solutions. 
  • Proficiency with computer software, aptitude for learning new programs, and commitment to data integrity required.
